If you try to print a document on Windows and receive an error message that says, "HP Office Jet Pro printer is not responding," don't panic. The error message could be generated by a tiny defect that can be readily fixed. The HP printer doesn't work under Windows:
A weak connection between the PC and the Printer can cause wireless printers to fail to respond. When dealing with such issues, it's a good idea to temporarily disable the antivirus and firewall to see if this helps.
The next option is to delete the third-party antivirus software, and if that does not solve the Printer is not responding HP issue, a different antivirus should be used. Try to find software that will not cause any system issues.
Another way to check if the HP printer is working properly is to look at the connection between the Printer and the desktop or laptop and see if it is secure. If the problem is with the USB port, they should try connecting it to another USB port.
Another cause of the error message could be out-of-date drivers, which can be fixed by updating the most recent drivers from the Device Manager section. Click 'Update driver' after selecting Printer from the list of devices. Then select 'Search Automatically for Updated Drivers,' and Windows will locate and download the most recent driver.
